About Mai:

As a registered psychologist, I hope to understand and support people through their emotional pain and situational challenges. I believe every person holds the required pieces of life’s puzzle to overcome their issues and challenges. However, emotional pain, trauma, hurt, stress, current lack of skills or information and/or mental health conditions can prevent the person from making choices, taking action to manage their situation, resolve the issues or even face the challenges.

Some of these challenges may include, but are not limited to, dealing with self-acceptance, difficult feelings like anxiety, guilt and depression, life transitions due to relocating to a new environment, parenthood, divorce, retirement, loss of employment or physical health, managing stress/time/priorities and/or finding meaning and motivation.

Through counselling, I hope to provide you the respect, privacy, acceptance and support you need to work on your challenges and issues. While my clinical background and eclectic orientation to psychological modalities will inform the counselling process, my primary focus will be on your individual need/s and your desire for inner healing, wisdom, hope, competence and safety.

I have a keen interest in integrative healing and wellbeing and am pursuing the study and practice of medicinal qigong and energetic medicine. I love travelling, cooking and Chinese calligraphy.
